That boner you get when you buy your first Canon 70-200mm f2.8L!
Stopped by Sitka on my way to Sombrio this past weekend. Holy smokes that store is on a different level.
Last week and last chance to view my work at the Sitka Victoria flagship. Works for sale, and selling!
What I Print with. The Epson Stylus Pro.
Not my sisters wireless printer.
If you haven’t dropped out of Emily Carr yet, take advantage of the Digital Output Center. Its cheaper to print here then anywhere else in Vancouver- accept for this inkjet printer, its a bad ass bandito printing at 64”x infiniti, with a 2880 x 1440 dpi. The techs, Carlos & Eduardo own a wealth of knowledge. Theirs a reason their not teaching in the classroom and it’s not because Carlos is a meany- hes actually a heartfelt guy- I’ll say its because they don’t have time for slackers and are saving it for the keeners.

Check out these words by Malcolm Johnson on SBC Surf about my work.
"Alex Guiry is a travel and lifestyle photographer who’s been studying at Emily Carr in Vancouver for the last few years while traveling to distant surf destinations on the side. "My work is based around the lifestyle of surfing," he says, "as well as the byproducts of traveling with a surfboard. I play on the harsh realities and the enlightening ones—in a way, I like to think I’m an artist-as-ethnographer."
Alex is headed off to Mexico and Central America next month, so we’re looking forward to seeing more of his work here at SBC. There’s currently an exhibition of his work up at the Sitka store in Victoria, and you can see a ton more from him at his website here or his Facebook page here”
I took this picture of two random surfers walking in from a large stormy surf. They asked to see the picture and were surprised at the result. I told them I would give them a business card in the parking lot, instead they exchanged a laugh.
