This year, my family has opted out of exchanging presents and instead we are having a #PoliticalChristmas as my mom would rather have everyone donate $50 to the Syrian Refugees. Heck yea! But if you're still buying something for your loved ones, have a look at one of my hand signed 1 of 20 edition prints.

Wow thank you LATER. Magazine for the kindest words I’ve received from anyone in the industry this far!
“Alex Guiry shoots with a unique intensity that makes him one of Canada`s best up and coming young photographers. His photos make you feel. And bleed. And cry internally with laughter and sadness. If I wasn`t under 100 deadlines I`d write a fucking novel about him. ” - Andrew Sayer

The end of Discomfort, will begin shortly.
Thanks to everyone and everyone who made Point Of Discomfort a reality. Now, I would love to hear your criticism, constructive criticism, thoughts, suggestions, morals & values on my current state of writing and photography. Whether it be in person, via info@alexguiryphoto.com, or in the comments section. Off on another Adventure this week and could use a lecture, pep talk, or shake down. XO.
I sing out loud in the backseat at the top of my heart as Logan Landry drives. Heidar Logi's exhaustion hums him to sleep. Logan talks towards the back of Mike Bromley’s head but he chooses to ignore. An occasional nod assures us he’s listening and not being rude. » #PointOfDiscomfort up on the front page of Monster Children.
Iceland is what Bon Iver sounds like. It’s deep, ethereal and grounding. It has the ability to affect you. » Point Of Discomfort featured on Monster Children
There’s a lot of other shit in between that still needs to be taken apart and put together. If you focus all your energy chasing glassy bumps, at age 50 you’ll end up living in a Balinese hostel, surrounded by backpacking Germans half your age, evading fraud, talking California pride and how your ex wife’s a bitch. If you think life’s all about surfing—it’s not. Then, alone, we paddled out to sea.
New Point Of Discomfort essay from ICELAND up on the Monster Children website.
Iceland’s existence is in a constant state of flux. Nothing is permanent: good or evil. Nine a.m. sunrise. So far I haven’t shot much film this trip until today. My mind’s been fixated on looking out the window and staring at the vast surroundings. It has a familiar feeling of an ex lover’s body in bed. Her angry contours, dotted with abrupt scars of the past intrigue me. I catch her breath as she invites me in. She intensifies my spirit. Then the fear rushes back as she makes me vulnerable again. My POINT OF DISCOMFORT photo essay and and writing are up on the headlining page of MONSTER CHILDREN! This trip to Iceland was the purest trip the three of us have ever been on. Now that it is online to share with everyone it has become the realist point in my photography career so far.
With closure to this chapter it’s time the start another. Thank you Logan Landry, Mike Bromley, Heiðar Elíasson & everyone else who was a part of this. You know who you are. OM.
I had hoped when Mike Bromley was on shore shooting Logan Landry, that he might have shot my first barrel ever- but he didn’t. Instead local surf photographer Valdimar Thorlacius did and posted it yesterday. This is that big day on Nov. 17th. Thanks so much dog. One of my purest moments in life!
