In order to gain access to publications, and spaces, is it okay to tell other professionals (photographers, athletes, editors, stores, festivals etc.) that you are a professional photographer when you aren’t quite there yet? Or will it set you back further in the long run?
What would you think of me as an artist, if I started shooting weddings, or birthdays, or heck baby showers? Good idea or bad idea?
The Point. Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
You get to meet such amazing, and helpful people traveling the world. When I arrived in Puerto Escondido four months ago I was greeted by this fellow, know as Blondie. Blondie walks around with cut off jeans, nothing on his feet, and has a tattoo of his name, ‘Blondie’ on his right arm. I hung out with Blondie for a week, exploring the small hippie town, drinking mescal, looking for surf shops. I even lent him 200 pesos. I don’t discriminate who I lend my peso’s out to, so I thought fuck it, why not test the trust of these Mexicans.
Well, after two days past I realized Blondie skipped town, so I took off North in an airplane. Two months later I arrived back at The Point, in Puerto Escondido, to find Blondie and my money. This time Blondie had no hair, he lost it in poker, but he had 8 pesos for me.
I forgot to add, Blondie is a drunk, and needed my money to bail his ID out of jail. Screw your name, Blondie.
UPDATE: Here’s another photo of the pup we found dieing on the street. The lady who’s car this is drove her to the vet. Once she found out the pup wouldn’t live, they had her deflead, washed, held, and loved before putting her down. They lady and her two little girls gave her a traditional burial in front of their house.
The producer of this film came over to my casa for dinner the other night. He’s living my dream. Traveling the world shooting, a planet earth/Samsara documentary on the intricacies of life. Interviewing astronauts, religious leaders, philosophers and artists alike.
Pledge 15 bucks, and you’ll get to have a digital download of this goosebump film called CUNTINUUM. The Kickstarter needs to reach its goal of 80k or else they don’t get a penny. DAH FUCK?
We are all one. ONE LOVE.

“Here’s a photo gallery and some words of wisdom from Alex Guiry Photography, who’s been lost in Mexico for months.”- Later Magazine
“You have three choices: You can look up with raging jealousy and end your days in sadness and regret. Or you can look down at all the distance you climbed, become arrogant about every step you took and not have many friends with whom to share your closing days.
Or you can skim the horizon and take in the gorgeous sweep of the panorama before you. If you can do that you will know peace and rare humility.

Featured on www.latermag.com interview.
I met up with the editor of LaterMag in Mexico, and did an interview about my trip, my nudity, and my photography.
LaterMag is a behind the scenes, reality, surf magazine. Where surfing takes a backseat and the travel tales come out rawer then the rest. No sprinkles, and sparkles with these guys. Just the way I like it.
I came across a pup on the street staring at the pavement blankly. I bought it 2 pesos worth of dog food and tried to feed it some water, but she wouldn’t take. The pup was full of fleas and ticks and looked like it was blind. With some help, my girlfriend and I asked someone walking past to drive her to a vet in a nearby town. She tried to get out of the car, but her legs gave out, forcing her jaw into the curb. Yesterday we heard from the driver the dog had a neurological disease and had to be put down.
When death lingers, is it appropriate to take photos of a subject for photojournalism sake?
