Us kids know.
"I've always been a person who cared to talk about the real shit, real life, real feelings… I want to get to the heart of a person. I want to feel the freedom of living my authentic self, and in doing that I want to liberate others to do the same. At the risk of sounding like this is some noble cause… it's more that. It is a cause that is very close to my heart, and because of that I think it. perhaps resonates with people." - Alexa Mazzarello Photography talking about her new baby, The Elephant Project.
"I’m trying to ask simpler question's, but I can’t find a simple question?" I say to Alexa, frustrated.
She is silent at first, then begins. "Yesterday I visited my aunt in the hospital. She maybe weighs 85 lbs now… and what I realized is that as we die we literally just become more of Love. There is only Love left. I can't even begin to explain the weight of the experience to be there with her, to hug her, and to hear her tell me how proud she is of me. I am sitting with all this and going to write it into a piece this week. In terms of simple questions, fuck yes, the questions are goddam simple. How can we be kinder? How can I be more of Love?"
"Damn," I say woken by how potent her words are, knowing I can be a better me as she guides my finger towards myself.

Here is a photo taken by National Geographic photographer Victor Englebert. I bought Vic's Leica M2 the other day, and he wrote me back saying "Thank you, Alex. Good luck with it." Wahooo I say! This photo is from his book "Wind, Sand & Silence: Travels With Africa's Last Nomads" Shot over 26 years and over 5 different visits, he spent his time with the Tuareg, Bororo, Danakil, and Turkana peoples. This book was recommended by Time magazine in the 1992 Christmas issue. Jesus!
I bought a Leica the other day! This M2 was built in 1958 and used on 9 National Geographic, and several Life and Time Magazine assignments by photojournalist Victor Englebert. His niche was documenting and learning from indigenous people. Wow... sold.
Pausing between lyrics. Soft spoken, psychefuckingdelic, front man, Nick Allbrook from POND and Tame Impala kneels to the ground with his mic in hand.
Don't wait for another dead body to bring us together. Shot for little alexa photography.

Fuck my roots... Is death slowly growing or is growth slowly dying? I'm living too fast with my skin the past. Rebirth, Rebirth, time to climb down.
Here I am, shining like a bottle.
Here I am, hiding from the bottle.
Woke up at your burial grounds.
When will you climb out of me?
A slow burn still blisters.
California officials trying to keep up with the constant state of drought that has put the entire state at risk alongside the entire west side of the USA. California is in its third drought, yet it still consumes the most amount of water in the West do to its intricate water systems. Great article out in the October food issue of National Geographicthat tackles this threat.
Like a ghost gasps for air, you scream for your ashes back. But we're all dressed in black with our heads face down and our chests shut down. I want you back.
I realized my power, when I looked back on my destruction.
Woke up alone.
Dancing demon or goddess?
